Bilingual Paralegal

Premier Novato family law firm seeks a family law Spanish-speaking paralegal with 8+ years of California family law experience working in a family law firm. The candidate will help in the preparation and drafting of legal documents, such as judicial council forms, declarations, motions, briefs, as well as conduct legal research for trial preparation, and work other team members to ensure client files are kept up to date and ensuring that all required deadlines are calendared and met.
The candidate will work closely with attorneys to prepare legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence such as: petitions, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, declarations, and correspondences to opposing counsels/parties.
The candidate will assist attorneys with preparing for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organize and coordinate witnesses.
The candidate may perform administrative duties such as answering/returning phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible as well as communicate with clients regarding the status of their case.
The candidate should have experience drafting declarations, points and authorities, settlement conference statements, conducting legal research, and responding to motions for spousal support, child support, child custody, visitation, property-related issues, restraining orders and other family law issues. The candidate should also be well-versed in the preparation of complete Preliminary Declarations of Disclosures and Income and Expense Declarations. The candidate should have experience in preparing responses to discovery demands. The candidate should have experience drafting and reviewing discovery, assessing the sufficiency of responses, drafting meet and confer letters, and drafting and responding to motions to compel.
Experience and expertise with Clio, Lawyaw, GSuite, Dissomaster, and Word, is preferred.

The candidate should understand the importance of customer service and have the ability to empathize with clients undergoing high levels of stress. The candidate must be able to work with others in a team environment. The candidate must be enthusiastic and detail oriented.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
The candidate for this position must be fluent in Spanish, have a cheerful personality for client contact, as well as have excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. The candidate for this position must also be familiar with Microsoft Word as well as be able to run and operate the technology and programs used in this office.
